Garnet Abrasive Products

Two garnet series sourced from Inner Mongolia, China. Rock garnet for aggressive first-pass cutting and heavy mill scale removal; alluvial garnet for waterjet cutting, coating preparation and multi-pass recovery. Both test at Mohs 7.5–8.0 with free crystalline silica not detectable.

Rock garnet

Rock Garnet

Sub-angular, sharper grain. Cuts faster on the first pass and breaks down sooner. Chloride < 1 ppm — the grade to specify for austenitic stainless, marine and nuclear work.

Grades: 4/8 · 8/12 · 20/40 · 30/60

Alluvial garnet

Alluvial Garnet

Sub-angular to sub-rounded grain, tumbled by water over a very long time. Fractures less, so it can be recovered and reused. Lowest soluble salts: conductivity 48–83 µS/cm.

Grades: 12/24 · 20/40 · 30/60 · 80 · 120

Packing & Loading

25 kg woven PP bags · 1 tonne jumbo bags with discharge spout · palletised, fumigated to IPPC standard.

Up to 28 tonnes per 20 ft container, subject to destination road weight limits. Different grades can be mixed in one container — for example 80 mesh for a cutting shop and 30/60 for a blasting yard in the same shipment.

Origin: Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia, China. Samples (500 g) ship within three working days.
